Theory in practice: business administration students from the University of Macedonia visit Xenos Packaging
A step closer to real-world experience
Bridging academic knowledge with professional practice is essential for the meaningful training of future professionals. In this context, Xenos Packaging welcomed students from the Department of Business Administration at the University of Macedonia to its facilities, offering them the opportunity to observe the daily operations of an industrial packaging company.
During the visit, students were guided through the production stages, gaining insights into workflow, resource management, and the role of quality in the final product.
When theory meets practice
The visit served as a valuable opportunity for students to see real-life applications of theoretical concepts taught in university, such as production management, supply chain operations, operations management, and overall business functioning. At each stage of the tour, discussions with company staff provided clarifications and practical examples of the challenges faced in daily operations.
One of the highlights was the printing department, where students observed the process of designing and producing branded packaging—from the initial artwork to the finished product. The discussion that followed focused on how different client needs are approached and how these needs influence choices in materials and design—illustrating how theory can be translated into practical decision-making.
Strengthening the link between education and the job market
This visit highlighted the importance of connecting students with real workplace environments. Through hands-on experiences, their understanding of business operations deepens, while also encouraging reflection and future career planning.
For Xenos Packaging, hosting such initiatives is part of its broader commitment to supporting the connection between higher education and the job market. Engaging with the next generation brings fresh perspectives and creates fertile ground for exchanging knowledge and experience.
